Air Intake Installation for a 1G (1995-2000) Stratus, Cirrus, or Sebring Convertible with the 2.5L V6 Engine

Removal of Factory Intake
· Make sure engine is cool.
· Turn to the left or remove the driver's side wheel completely to gain access to the false panel covering your battery.
· Prop open hood
· Locate the factory intake box, behind driver side headlight.
· Release metal retaining clips on intake box, lift cover and remove the factory filter.
· Trace the intake across the engine compartment and locate the plastic molding that says "2.5L V6 Multi-Port Fuel Injection" holding the plastic to the engine.”
· Trace the intake back to the point that it lets air flow into the engine.
· Take a flat head screwdriver and loosen the hose clamp and remove the intake
· Take care to notice the hose that is connected to the plastic piece. (This is the breather valve or tube; this tube will be replaced by a piece included in the kit)
· In the air box , you will see three screw-type clips. Loosen those screws to remove the air box. (You may have to hold the nuts from under the wheel well.)
· Now remove the three protruding screws that once held the air box to the fender. (Otherwise you will run the risk of tearing a hole into the filter of the new intake)

Installation of Cone Air Filter Intake
· Position the intake so that the filter is pointed towards the outer part of the car.
· Place the colored rubber sleeve onto the appropriate end of the intake. (This piece will connect to the throttle body.)
· Don't tighten any of the hose clamps. Position them so that you have easy access to tighten them later.
· Connect the supplied, braided hose to the intake.
· Connect the intake to the throttle body, ensuring that you have the sleeve firmly attached to the intake and throttle body.
· Once the intake is in place, navigate the small hose to where you disconnected the breather tube.
· Connect the two pieces of hose.
· Slide the filter forward on the intake pipe leaving enough for the hose clamp to secure the filter tightly to the intake pipe.
· Tighten all the hose clamps.

Resetting the ECU
This procedure will reset the computer so that it may “learn” of your new intake faster.
· Disconnect the Negative battery cable for 5 minutes.
· Reconnect negative cable and close the hood.

Installation is complete!
