· Remove the black mounting brackets.
· Fold down the back seat and open the trunk.
· Pull back the trunk lining over the wheel well, exposing the top of the strut assembly.
· Remove the two nuts that hold the assembly to the chassis of the car, then remove the rubber caps.
· Place the black mounting bracket flat side down on both sides of the car, then replace the nuts and rubber caps. Remember to tighten the nuts to the same torque that they were.
· Cut two slits in the shape of a cross (+) where you see the bulge of the mounting bracket upon replacing the carpet. This will be where the brace connects to the bracket.
· Take one end of the brace and attach it to either bracket of your choice. Tighten down the bolt.
· Rotate the brace so that it extends. Take note to hold the unattached end also extends at the same rate you are turning.
· When the brace is extended enough, insert the other bolt. (You may have to tap it in with force.)
· After you have the brace in place, start turning it so it puts pressure (further extending) towards the outside of the car. Do this until you can no longer turn the brace.
· After you have fully tightened the brace, snug down the nuts that will keep the brace from loosening. These need only be snug.
